US government crypto transfers

The US government moved seized crypto to Coinbase Prime within hours, with reported totals ranging from $470 million in Bitcoin and Tether to roughly $566 million. One report described the funds as FTX-linked, and another counted 833.6 BTC among the transfers.

ETFs and institutions

US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $201.9 million in net outflows on October 6, while Bitcoin ETFs took in about $118.8 million in net inflows, according to Farside Investors. Robinhood added $25 million in Bitcoin to its balance sheet, and Wells Fargo is reportedly in talks with Kraken parent Payward over crypto trading liquidity. A Charles Schwab survey found 64% of Millennial crypto owners plan to buy more, and Ripple Custody version 1.43 added Canton Network support for institutions.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin traded at $83,245, down 2.61%, with total crypto market cap at $2.84 trillion. Ethereum, Layer 2s and security

Ether fell 6% toward $2,500 and traded at $2,572, down 4.58%, with about $1.35 billion in leveraged long positions near liquidation levels, according to CoinMarketCap data. Ethereum's Sepolia testnet is testing a 200 million block gas limit, more than three times its previous 60 million target, as part of Glamsterdam upgrade work. Ethereum researcher Justin Drake urged the industry to prepare for a 'bunker mode', warning that AI advances could expose weaknesses in ECDSA for wallets with revealed public keys, and advised moving coins to fresh addresses. ZKsync released Prividium's core code under the Apache 2.0 license.

Open USD supply on Ethereum topped $100 million in its first week, and USDG's market cap on Arbitrum One reached $31.2 million after a $10.2 million daily increase.
