US inflation came in at 3.7%, and bitcoin and gold fell after the report. Bitcoin dropped toward $81,300 as market-implied odds of a Fed rate hike at the October meeting rose, with outlets citing estimates of 24.9% and 55%. About $100 million in crypto positions were liquidated.

4US bitcoin ETFs record outflows while Bitwise's BITB adds funds

US spot bitcoin ETFs posted net outflows, with outlets reporting figures of $261 million and $744 million, while Bitwise's BITB took in $2.2 million. Coinucation's tracker shows bitcoin ETFs lost $89.9 million on October 5, the latest day available, but gained $193.3 million over seven days. Ether ETFs lost $50.8 million that day and $143.6 million over seven days.
